
Georgia-United Arab Emirates Business Forum is being held in Tbilisi today, attended by about 250 business representatives.
To be reminded, the final round of negotiations on the free trade agreement between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates started in Tbilisi a few days ago between the government delegations of the two countries. According to the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the negotiations are scheduled to be completed today, March 17, and the approximate date will be determined when, as a result of the completion of domestic procedures, the text of the agreement will be prepared for official signing.
According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January 2023, the trade turnover with the Emirates amounted to 25,876,090 USD, which is an annual increase of 44.7%. In particular, in January 2022, this figure was 17,883,680 USD. Moreover, both export and import have increased annually - in January of this year, the United Arab Emirates exported products worth 3,203,440 USD, while the import amounted to 22,672,650 USD.
