
According to the data of the first four months of 2023, Ukraine is no longer included in the list of the 10 largest trade partners of Georgia. The trend of decreasing trade in goods between the countries has been observed since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. According to official statistics, trade has decreased by 19.1% in 4 months this year. In January-April, the goods trade of the countries amounted to $118 million 391 thousand. Thus, Ukraine ranked 14th in the ranking of partners.
Despite the overall trade turnover, war-torn Ukraine is in the last, tenth position in the top ten exporting countries with a 1.6% share. During the reporting period, Georgia exported goods worth $30.4 million to Ukraine, which is 42.5% lower than the figure of the same period of the previous share.
As for imports, the rate of purchase of goods from Ukraine during January-April decreased by 5.8%, therefore, 87.9 million US dollars were spent to purchase goods. The main import goods in this direction are vehicles.
