With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, a tour of American wine professionals was carried out in Georgia. The guests were wine importers and representatives of the American marketing company Colangelo & Partners and the contractor of the National Wine Agency. The purpose of the tour was to increase awareness of Georgian wine in the US market.
The 13 members of the professional group visited the Georgian wine-producing companies in Kakheti and Kartli, where they got to know the history and traditions of Georgian wine-making, and tasted the Georgian wines made in the classical manner as well as in the traditional method. As part of the tour, a Georgian wine master class was held for guests in Tbilisi, where wines from different regions of the country were presented. Considering the possibility of finding potential importers and, therefore, increasing exports, it is particularly important to present the Georgian wine to the American professionals.
The marketing activities carried out by the National Wine Agency of Georgia in recent years helped to increase the awareness of Georgian wine in the USA, which was reflected in concrete results. In the 6 months of 2023, 434 thousand liters of wine were exported from Georgia to the USA, the increase is 5% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the US market is one of the most expensive segments for the Georgian wine, where the price of one liter of Georgian wine exceeds 6 USD.
