Tornike Rizhvadze has announced his resignation as the Head of the Adjara Autonomous Republic government after serving in the role for seven years. In a Facebook post, he explained that it was “high time for changes.”
Rizhvadze expressed gratitude to Georgian Dream party founder Bidzina Ivanishvili, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, and President Mikheil Kavelashvili for their support. He also thanked his team, party members, and the people of Adjara for their trust, adding, "I will remain a loyal soldier of the Georgian Dream" and is confident of future successes.
