
“In January-September 2023, 5,566,980 international travelers visited Georgia. Of these, the number of other visits (non-tourist) was 738,743, and of those made by foreign nationals - 4,828,237,” - the National Tourism Administration of Georgia reports.
In the first 9 months of the current year, the visits of international travelers increased by 43% compared to the same period in 2022, and it is 23.1% lower than the similar figure of 2019 before the pandemic.
According to the Tourism Administration, in January-September 2023, Georgia hosted a total of 328,909 travelers from the EU member states (including the United Kingdom), which is 6% of all travelers. It should also be noted that the rate of international travelers from the EU countries is 54.3% higher than the figure recorded in the same period of 2022, and 14.7% lower than the rate of January-September 2019 before the pandemic.
As for individual countries, 73,129 travelers [the largest number from the European Union countries] visited Georgia from Poland, followed by Germany - with 54,332 travelers and the United Kingdom ranks 3rd with 22,608 travelers.
