In January-May 2023, foreign trade turnover of goods in Georgia (without undeclared trade) was $8,362.6 million, which is 18.9% more compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, while the import value is $5 859.7 mln. (increased by 19.1%).

According to the GEOSTAT, light cars rank 1st in imports, re-export of which amounted to $795 million, copper ores rank 2nd, and wine – 3rd.
According to the January-May 2023 data, the top-10 imported goods of Georgia are as follows:
1. Passenger cars - $1.015 billion, a 85.4%-increase;
2. Oil and oil products - $399 million, a 13.4%-decrease;
3. Petroleum gases and other gaseous hydrocarbons - $264 million, a 19.6%-increase;
4. Medicinal products packaged - $216 million, a 38.6%-increase;
5. Copper ores and concentrates - $176 million, a 49%-decrease;
6. Telephone devices - $149 million, a 45.8%-increase;
7. Computing machines and their blocks - $71 million, a 7.5%-decrease;
8. Trucks - $57 million, a 60.5%-increase;
9. Cigars, cigarillos and cigarettes made of tobacco or its substitutes - $54 million, a 78.3%-increase;
10. Tractors and articulated lorries - $53.9 million, a 16.9%-increase.
In January-May 2023, the share of the ten largest import partner countries in the total import of Georgia amounted to 70.4%. The top three include: Turkey (1,021.9 million US dollars), Russia (778.6 million US dollars) and the USA (589.7 million US dollars).
