This year, the export price of Georgian blueberries may decrease. As Zviad Mirianashvili, the founder of Motsvi LTD, said, the reason for this is the increase in production.
“This year, Georgian blueberries will be probably sold to the Gulf countries, Russia and European markets. Now we have started the season, we are selling small volumes locally, and for testing, I have to send the product to the Gulf countries, as well as Europe (Germany, Poland) and Russia. We have the same amount of harvest as last year; we have not increased the production, however, we are thinking about diversifying the markets. We want to be ready for Europe next year.
As for the price, it will probably be lower this year, because production volumes have increased. In addition, the season started late. Accordingly, the price will probably be $2 less, compared to last year", Zviad Mirianashvili said.
