As the Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili previously said, under the decision of the inter-departmental government commission, 2 bidders were selected for the next stage of Anaklia project implementation. As Davitashvili said, the capacity of the first phase of the Anaklia port will be 600 thousand containers, and the indicative cost will amount to 600 million US dollars.
"The Anaklia project is one of the most important projects - not only for Georgia, but for the region as a whole; of course, Azerbaijan also has an interest in participating in this project. Negotiations are probably going on. The Kulev terminal is close to the Anaklia port envisaged by the project, and if the terminal is expanded, then these oil products from Kulevi and Anaklia port will be exported to other countries abroad. This port will also be acceptable to Azerbaijan," - Ali Babayev said.
