According to the assessment of the President of the Business Association of Georgia, Soso Pkhakadze, the macroeconomic environment in Georgia has improved.
"When Russia invaded Ukraine, a lot of people said that this problem would have a very negative impact on the economy of our country. They were probably right to some extent, but we can say without any exaggeration that we do not have such a negative scenario as predicted by some people. The end result is that the macroeconomic environment has significantly improved. Foreign exchange inflows through transfers have increased significantly and exports have increased. Tens of thousands of new people arrived and live in our country, whose purchasing power is quite high. In the end, we have seen a double-digit economic growth. Financial and other parameters have improved. This is a prerequisite for the country's economy to develop. We have good expectations. All this was also greatly contributed by the strengthening of the exchange rate of the lari. This has always been one of the main problems," - Soso Pkhakadze said.
