“I had the occasion to meet with my Georgian colleague few weeks ago in Madrid and I conveyed the message that there is European pattern that must end within the European family. It is very clear that there is a place in the European family for them,” José Manuel Albares Bueno said before the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.

Today, Brussels is hosting the Eastern Partnership (EaP) ministerial meeting, which brings together the EU Foreign Ministers and their counterparts from five of the six Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, and Ukraine), under the chairmanship of the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Joseph Borrell.

As the Council of the EU declared, the discussion will provide an opportunity to reflect on the future of the Eastern Partnership, as well as on the security challenges and consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine for the entire region.
