“There are too many companies that will make positive decisions regarding investing in Georgia in 2023,” – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili stated at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to him, the Georgian delegation is holding intensive meetings with the investor companies.
"The Economic Forum in Davos is going on very interestingly. Very intensive meetings are held with the investing companies. We have discussed investment opportunities in Georgia with many interested companies that are successfully operating in Georgia and there is a chance for them to expand their investment projects in the country, as well as with the companies that are not yet represented in the region.
We talked about the geopolitical situation of Georgia and its geographical. In light of the recent events, the interest of international shipping companies in the central corridor is particularly noteworthy. We talked about the main strategic projects that involve the improvement of the transport infrastructure, the directions of energy, in general, the field of hospitality and various sectors where Georgia has a truly outstanding potential.
The new agenda with the European Union is also particularly noteworthy, which implies the relevance of connectivity. The head of the European Union, President Ursula von der Leyen also spoke about this. A new connecting Black Sea submarine cable. which will directly connect the energy system of Georgia with Europe and the opportunities that appear in terms of investment. I think there are quite a lot of interested companies that will make positive decisions about investing in Georgia in 2023, - said Levan Davitashvili.
