
According to US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, the United States is considering ways to provide additional assistance to non-NATO allies, including Georgia.
Based on the Georgian edition of "Voice of America", Lloyd Austin made the above remarks during a discussion of the 2023 fiscal year budget project at the House Armed Services Committee of the United States Congress.
According to VOA, the Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley answered questions from lawmakers. Most of the questions revolved around the current events in Ukraine and the military capability of the United States. In his opening remarks, the Secretary of Defense said that Russia's unprovoked invasion of Ukraine poses a historic challenge to transatlantic security. Austing added that the US must continue to make significant investments in all areas of European security.
As VOA reports, this was also shared by General Milley who said that Russia's invasion of Ukraine poses a threat to global security and stability.
