Giorgi Gulua, reservations manager of Prometheus Epic Hotel & Spa, located in Tskaltubo, in the village of Kvilishori, said that unlike the other cities of Imereti region, Tskaltubo is seasonal, therefore, the hotels are reserved from June to September, and from the end of October to the next season, the city is hardly visited by vacationers.
The representative of the hotel assumes that the Tskaltubo renovation plan announced by the government will revive the region.
"Tskaltubo is completely seasonal. The occupancy rate of our hotel is 80% during the season. Vacationers from Arab countries predominate among tourists. Tskaltubo hotels are mainly booked by travel companies, we do not have bookings from individual sites such as booking.com. Locals are also among the tourists.
Tskaltubo has great potential in terms of tourism. The niche of this side is treatment and spa destinations. I think the Tskaltubo renovation program will revive this zone; it will create a center of attraction. Unfortunately, people’s awareness of the location is less at the moment," - Giorgi Gulua said.
To be informed, GEL 3 million was invested for the opening of Prometheus Epic Hotel & Spa in Tskaltubo. The hotel combines a 26-room hotel, a wine museum, a restaurant, two types of pools and a jacuzzi, as well as a sauna. The complex employs 60 people in the region.
