The Georgian Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili emphasized the importance of the Middle Corridor of the Trans-Caspian Transport Route and the Green Energy Corridor for both energy independence and supply chain connectivity between China and Europe. Speaking at the UN Climate Change Conference in Baku, he highlighted the Black Sea submarine electricity cable project, which will deliver green energy from Azerbaijan to Europe and attract investment to the region.
Levan Davitashvili noted that energy is a major contributor to climate change and emphasized the significance of projects like this, which involve Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, and Hungary, in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He called the cable initiative crucial for Georgia's energy and economic future, noting its potential to transform the South Caucasus economy.
He also stressed the global importance of the project, which aims to connect energy networks beyond regional boundaries, benefiting participating countries economically and enhancing competitiveness.
