"In parallel with the extraordinary people-to-people and political cooperation between our countries, we have quite dynamic trade and economic relations. Both countries are actively trying to align with specific benchmarks, and in this process we try to have concrete tangible dynamics in terms of trade every year. Our next benchmark in terms of trade is defined as 3 billion dollars," - the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, said at a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, within the framework of his official visit to Istanbul.
According to him, with joint efforts, Georgia and Turkey will reach this level very soon, as a result of which a new benchmark will be determined, which will further strengthen and deepen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia also spoke about the importance of the development of the investment environment.
"In terms of investments, we are trying our best to support the representatives of the private sector of the two countries as much as possible on the part of our state structures, so that they can navigate this process more easily and, on the one hand, can make the Georgian investment market more attractive for representatives of the private sector in Turkey, and on the contrary, Georgian businessmen became interested in the Turkish investment market. Accordingly, in this regard and in terms of legal rapprochement, we will spare no effort," - the Minister explained.
As part of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey, Ilia Darchiashvili met with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu. After the meeting, the parties held a joint press conference.
