In May, tourist visits, compared to the same period in 2019, increased by 62.3%. According to Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, “this figure is a clear example of the fact that the Government of Georgia, the Ministry of Economy and the Tourism Administration are working with the right strategy and action plan for the recovery of the tourism sector.”
"We are actively cooperating with the private sector, intensifying our work in the target markets and facilitating the entry of new airlines into our air market. Consequently, we have accelerated the dynamics of tourism growth, which has a positive impact on both the income of the economy and new jobs.
