"Georgia remains firmly committed to the choice of political association and economic integration with the European Union and implements a wide range of reforms aimed not only at deepening trade relations with the European Union, but also promoting convergence with the European Union's standards in various fields," - the Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia said while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Eastern Partnership Business Forum in Prague.
Levan Davitashvili thanked the representatives of the Czech government and partner organizations that hosted the forum for the opportunity to discuss the ways of deepening economic and trade cooperation between the Eastern partners and the European Union. As he noted, the realistic prospect of the EU membership is a strong motivation for Georgia and its citizens. According to Levan Davitashvili, this is a new benchmark and this choice of Georgia is unshakable.
In addition, the Economy Minister emphasized that “Georgia is open to be included in the further discussion process of the Eastern Partnership for cooperation with all participants and interested parties. According to him, the parties should work on joint projects and initiatives of regional importance, which will further facilitate our economic relations and business ties.”
Within the framework of Levan Davitashvili's visit to the Czech Republic, meetings are also planned with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, the Vice President of the European Investment Bank and the representatives of the Czech-Georgian Chamber of Commerce.
