"The plan is clear and without alternative: new elections," declared former Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili to protesters on Rustaveli Avenue.
She explained that in the coming days, she would present a document outlining the conditions for new elections. "I believe we’re on the right path," Zourabichvili said. "The plan is straightforward: new elections. More and more international partners are calling for them because, after four months of crisis, there is no peaceful solution but elections. Elections mean asking the people what they want, and the Georgian people want freedom, independence, and a European future."
She emphasized the need for election preparation, including establishing proper conditions, training commission members and observers, and ensuring no election manipulation. "We must prevent the falsifications used before, and I’m working to secure international support for this," she added. "Election manipulation, a strategy used by Russia, is something we must stop now to protect Georgia and Europe."
Zourabichvili also stressed the importance of coordination among political parties. "There should be one election program—the Georgian Charter—focused on repealing Russian laws, freeing prisoners, restoring a fair judiciary, and combating corruption."
She concluded, "I will be wherever I’m needed: a coordinator, a leader, or just an ordinary citizen. I’ll be there with you."
