European Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi expressed his full support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Georgia.
At the joint press conference after the meeting with Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili, Olivér Várhelyi stated the European Union would help Georgia overcome the difficulties that exist in the country due to Russian aggression.
"When you are in Georgia, you cannot but talk about the fact that the territorial integrity is violated. The ongoing war in Ukraine shows, as the 2008 war in Georgia showed, that we should support all countries facing Russian aggression. Therefore, I would like to emphasize my message that we stand by the full territorial integrity of Georgia and will continue to work in this direction. We will help Georgia overcome the difficulties that exist on the basis of this aggression," said Olivér Várhelyi.
