As stated in the bulletin released by the association, the National Bank of Georgia contributes to the development of the FinTech Ecosystem," - the press service of the National Bank of Georgia reports.
"Among them, the regional importance of the open banking technical sandbox project and, in this regard, close cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) are emphasized.
The review also mentions the positive feedback from the European Covered Bond Council (ECBC), according to which the regulatory framework for mortgage bonds operating in Georgia is in full compliance with the EU legislation. The efforts made by the National Bank in the direction of introduction of mortgage bonds are stressed here.
It should be noted that since 2015, the National Bank of Georgia has been a member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies and is responsible for assigning both International Securities Identification Number and Classification of financial instrument Code (CFI) - in accordance with ISO 6166 and ISO 10962 standards.
