The Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili responds to the meetings held in the United States of America via his personal Facebook page.
"The international financial institutions and partner countries strongly support Georgia. The reforms carried out in the direction of the country's fiscal and monetary policy and the achieved results (including, a double-digit economic growth in the last two years, a sharp reduction in the budget deficit, a reduction in the level of government debt (GDP), an improvement in the current account deficit, and a decline in inflation in recent months) which are recognized by almost all international financial institutions, were evaluated positively.
Several TV companies, it seems, are deliberately spreading false information regarding the above-mentioned meetings. These stories are built on completely fake information and have nothing to do with reality. As I have said many times, our partners have never posed any question marks regarding the enforcement of sanctions by Georgia. In this regard, the measures taken by Georgia regarding the enforcement of sanctions do not leave any question marks and deserve only a positive assessment from our partners at all meetings. Such a high degree of cooperation that exists today with partner organizations has never been seen before. The Ministry of Finance of Georgia regularly holds bilateral meetings with the US partner organizations, including the spring/annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, and this year is no exception.
Fake information is probably no surprise today. However, out of more than 30 meetings of the Ministry of Finance this week, only one was "selected" to spread the falseness! This time, everyone is really surprised with the scale of the fraud!", - the Minister of Finance Lasha Khutsishvili wrote.
