Such evaluation is much welcomed but well overdue. The Georgian Nightmare works against our values and against Georgian people’s euro-atlantic aspirations, this is how MEP Miriam Lexmann responds to the statement of the Party of European Socialists, which condemned the speech of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, at the annual conference of Conservative Political Action (CPAC) in Hungary.
Before that, the Party of European Socialists issued a statement, where it is said that the party condemns the participation of the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, in the Conservative Political Action Conference and decided to evaluate the status of Georgian Dream at the next meeting.
"The PES condemns the decision of Georgian PM Irakli Garibashvili to participate in the Conservative Political Action Conference in Hungary. The PES had already decided to evaluate the status of Georgian Dream within the party at the next meeting of the Presidency. This is obviously a necessary step following the intervention by Gharibashvili today," PES said in a statement.
To be informed, Georgian Dream currently has the status of an observer member of the Party of European Socialists.
