The Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology became a full member of the European Association of National Metrology Institutes (EURAMET), which confirms the international recognition of the agency's activities in the field of metrology.
"Joining the European Association of National Metrology Institutes is one of the prerequisites for Georgia's integration into the European Union. Thus, EURAMET's acceptance of Georgia as a full member is a step forward in this direction and creates new opportunities for development in the field of metrology. This decision is the result of many years of structural reforms, which the Government of Georgia, through the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, has been implementing within the framework of the European integration policy", - the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Genadi Arveladze, said.
The mentioned process was carried out with the support of the EU twinning (TWINNING) project Strengthening of Georgian National Agency for Standards and Metrology (GEOSTM) according to the international/EU best practices.
