“The Free Trade Agreement between Georgia and China, which entered into force in January 2018, played a decisive role in ensuring greater trade between our countries, which since its signing has reached two billion US dollars annually,” - the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili, said at the Official Reception marking the 74th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China.
“The cooperation between Georgia and China at the governmental level is at the highest level; various Ministries, agencies and regions are actively involved in this effort, and this multifaceted collaboration undoubtedly demonstrates our commitment to common goals.
When considering the depth of our cooperation, it is important to note that trade has always been one of the cornerstones of our bilateral relations. It is with this understanding, that we have recently issued a decree to introduce visa-free travel for Chinese citizens. This decision reflects our unwavering commitment to strengthening the amicable bonds between our peoples. We hope this initiative will facilitate greater cultural exchange and tourism flows between our countries.
I am confident that our strategic partnership will continue to flourish, bringing prosperity and mutual benefits to our great nations,” - the Prime Minister declared.
