„Georgia has a special potential in the direction of energy development from renewable sources. This is directly related to the energy independence of our country, as well as, of course, economic and energy security,“ - said the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili, who participated in the conference "Attracting financing from international financial institutions for renewable energy projects".
According to the public relations service of the agency, the event was organized by the Georgian Renewable Energy Development Association (GREDA) and supported by TBC Bank and was aimed at informing private companies in the field of renewable energy about cooperation with international financial institutions, as well as promoting the availability of financing and informing financial institutions of the current innovations in the energy sector of Georgia.
International financial institutions participated in the event: International Finance Corporation (IFC), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Asian Development Bank (ADB), Netherlands Development Finance Company (FMO) and European Investment Bank (EIB). As Levan Davitashvili noted, the conference should be an important, uniquely productive platform, where developers and financial organizations will be able to establish contacts and this will turn into practical results.
