
“Against the backdrop of weakening the global economic prospects, the dynamics of positive economic trends continue in Georgia,” – the Head of the Department of Economic Analysis and Reforms of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, Vakhtang Tsintsadze, said.
"Based on the results of August, we can say that a 40% increase in exports is recorded and the volume of exports is one of the record indicators compared to the August data of the previous months," - Tsintsadze noted.
According to the data published by the Georgian National Statistics Office (GEOSTAT), the exports increased by 40.4% in August this year and amounted to more than $470 million. In August the imports increased by 39.7% and amounted to $one million 213 thousand.
