
“Last year was successful in terms of the economy and budget implementation,” – the Minister of Finance of Georgia Lasha Khutsishvili announced after the end of the government session.
"Based on the 11-month data, we have seen an average rate of the economic growth in the amount of 10%, and it is expected that the economic growth in 2022 will be maintained at this mark. In the direction of the combined budget, it is worth noting that the revenues of the 2022 consolidated budget were exceeded and amounted to GEL 23.7 billion, which is 101.1% of the planned indicator, that is, the revenues were exceeded by 1.1%. The combined budget revenues amounted to GEL 19.4 billion, which is 100.8% of the forecast indicator. In fact, the state budget in 2022 has been fully implemented both in terms of revenues and expenditures," - Lasha Khutsishvili said.
Regarding the macroeconomic parameters the year 2022 ended with, according to the Minister of Finance, reducing the budget deficit was one of the main priorities for the Ministry of Finance and the Government of Georgia.
