Koba Gvenetadze, Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, presented the book/album State Bank of Georgia and the font of the handwriting by Iason Lortkipanidze, the first manager of the State Bank of Georgia, to mark the Bankers Professional Day at the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia.
Discussing the importance of the banking sector, Governor Gvenetadze noted that the book/album State Bank of Georgia unfolds details of a hundred years of history. He was pleased to gift several copies of the book to the National Library of Georgia.
"The powerful and developed banking sector of Georgia has been one of the main driving areas of the national economy for years now. The financial system has repeatedly proven that it can, in parallel with successfully dealing with global shocks, continuously develop and make a meaningful contribution to the country's progress. We have heard the same thing from different advanced highly professional international platforms. I will probably not exaggerate if I say that the success we enjoy today is backed by our hundred-year history," Koba Gvenetadze said.
Irakli Kovzanadze, Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Parliament of Georgia congratulated all employees of the banking sector on the Bankers Professional Day. The Georgian financial sector is one of the most advanced in the entire post-Soviet area and in Eastern Europe, therefore, this achievement deserves to be cherished," Irakli Kovzanadze said.
