“The assessment of the International Monetary Fund indicates that Georgia is going in the right direction from the economic point of view,” - said the Deputy Minister of Finance of Georgia, Mikheil Dundua.
"If the average growth rate continues in the following years, by 2030 the economy of Georgia will exceed 15,000 US dollars per capita, which actually creates a convincing prospect of Georgia becoming a country with a high-income economy," - Dundua said.
The International Monetary Fund has published an updated assessment and long-term forecast for 2022-2028, according to which, Georgia ranks second among 193 states in terms of the growth rate of real GDP per capita, and ranked first in the Eastern Hemisphere.
