The Tbilisi TV Tower was illuminated in pink to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The Tbilisi City Hall reported that Tbilisi has joined in raising awareness as part of the global illumination campaign.
“The Tbilisi TV Tower has been lit in pink to demonstrate solidarity in the fight against breast cancer and to promote prevention. Throughout October, various activities will be held to emphasize the importance of timely screenings, which can help prevent fatal cases,” stated Eter Kighuradze, Director of the National Screening Center.
Additionally, Tbilisi City Hall announced that women aged 40 to 70 are eligible for free examinations.
The awareness campaign, titled “Your Life is in Your Hands,” aims to promote timely diagnostics, prevention, and screening programs in collaboration with the National Screening Center, Tbilisi Municipality Gender Equality Council, and Europa Donna Georgia.
