Tbilisi Metro turns 58 years old

Tbilisi Metro has turned 58 years old. It was officially opened on January 11, 1966 and consisted of 6 stations ("Didube", "Elektrodepo", "Oktomberi'' (later "Nadzaladevi"), "Station Square", "Marjanishvili" and "Rustaveli"), and its length was 6.5 kilometers. It was the fourth metro system in the former Soviet Union (after Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev), the construction of which began in the 50s of the last century.
The Tbilisi Metro serves 450 to 550 thousand passengers daily.
