"The Tbilisi Metro has been faithfully serving the residents of the capital and its guests for decades. In recent years, the cable and ventilation infrastructure in the Tbilisi Metro has been completely renewed. Low and medium voltage cables have been replaced and a new ventilation unit has been installed. Safety parameters have been significantly increased and the number of technical interruptions has been reduced," - the Tbilisi Transport Company said in a statement.
On January 11, 1966, the passengers first used the services of the Tbilisi Metro, which at that time included a 6.3 km transport line: "Didube", "Gotsiridze" (formerly known as Elektrodepo electric railway depot"), "Nadzaladevi" (former October), "Station Square". "Marjanishvili" and "Rustaveli".
On the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the launch of the metro, senior employees of the metro will traditionally be awarded the title of honorary employee.
