Tbilisi Mayor and Secretary General of the Georgian Dream party, Kakha Kaladze, confirmed his intention to run in the upcoming municipal elections during an appearance on the Imedi LIVE program, noting that his candidacy has also been publicly supported by the Prime Minister.
When asked about potential challengers, Kaladze declined to name any, saying it would be “embarrassing” to do so. He emphasized that an official campaign launch is planned soon, at which point majoritarian candidates for Tbilisi and other regions will be announced. He added that preparations are already in motion and that the campaign will soon enter its active phase.
“I prefer not to focus on the competition. My priority is solving real issues and addressing the needs of Tbilisi residents,” Kaladze stated.
Expressing strong confidence in the outcome, Kaladze predicted a sweeping victory for the ruling party: “Georgian Dream will win in all municipalities and districts—both in the Sakrebulo and mayoral races,” he said.
