Tbilisi International Airport handled 1,683,529 passengers in 2021 that is only 46% of the 2019 data and the same in 2014-15. Unfortunately, we do not have a positive forecast in Tbilisi for 2022, according to our calculations, we think that this year we will return 59% of the 2019 levels.
“We have much more positive forecast for Batumi International Airport. Despite the airport was fully closed for 10 months, we finished 2021 with 516,085 passengers, which accounted for 83% of the 2019 passenger flow,” - Tea Zakaradze, General Manager of TAV Georgia, stated.
During a December audit, independent Skytrax experts assessed the cleanliness of terminals, cleaning and disinfection procedures, social distance regulations, passenger flow control, and more than 150 safety protocols.
