Georgia’s capital Tbilisi is hosting European Mobility Week, the European Commission’s flagship awareness-raising initiative for sustainable urban mobility.
Mayor Kakha Kaladze said this year’s theme of the occasion was Shared Public Space, for encouraging movement by public transport, on foot and by bicycle, with the event being hosted throughout the week.
Kaladze noted a number of activities had been organized within the Week, including an opportunity for interested individuals to visit the Tbilisi bus fleet and metro system and be introduced to specifics of its operation and infrastructure.
The event will also showcase both old and new buses of the city fleet on Adam Mitskevichi Street, alongside an area for exhibition and sale of non-motorized vehicles.
