With the support of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, about 40 small, medium and family wineries participated in the exhibition. Traditionally, the Georgian International Wine Award was held. The jury included 11 well-known wine masters and sommeliers from 5 countries, who evaluated about 250 wines. The winning wines were identified in 8 categories, which gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to.
The jury of the competition was chaired by the famous master of wine from Great Britain Tim Atkin - winner of many awards, wine writer, author of Harpers, Decanter and many other publications. The chairman of the National Wine Agency, Levan Mekhuzla, was a member of the jury.
The awarding ceremony of the Wine Travel Awards competition was also held. About 300 companies from 30 countries of the world participated in the prestigious international wine tourism competition Wine Travel Awards. The following companies were represented from Georgia: Shumi Winery, Château Mukhrani, Askaneli, Winexpo Georgia; also, wine bloggers - Sopia Nikabadze and Daria Kholodilina won various nominations by online voting. 
The supporters of WinExpo Georgia 2023 organized by ExpoGeorgia are the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture and the National Wine Agency of Georgia. The international exhibition of wine and alcoholic beverages WINEXPO is one of the largest events in the field of winemaking in the Caucasus region, which combines various activities important for the industry. The exhibition was opened on June 2 by the Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, the Director of the Exhibition Center "ExpoGeorgia", Resan Kikava, and the Chairman of the Jury of the Georgian International Wine Award, Master of Wine, Tim Atkin.
