An additional 300 children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) will benefit from rehabilitation services through the Tbilisi City Hall program.
During a municipal government meeting, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced that these changes will take effect on April 1. Kaladze emphasized the city’s ongoing commitment to supporting children with ASD by continually updating the program. This latest adjustment coincides with the upcoming World Autism Awareness Day, which is observed annually on April 2.
The Mayor also revealed that the budget for this year’s Tbilisi City Hall program has been increased to GEL 11,245,000. Starting in April, 2,400 children and youth will have access to 20 sessions of specialized therapy provided by a multidisciplinary team.
Kaladze further highlighted that the number of service provider institutions has expanded, with the 11th organization joining the program in January. When the program was launched in July 2015, it initially involved only two institutions and served 325 children with a budget of GEL 500,000. Since then, the program has grown each year, with increased funding and a larger number of beneficiaries.
