
Kakha Labuchidze, Chairman of the Education and Culture Commission of the Tbilisi City Municipality Council, and Levan Abashidze, Chairman of the Commission on Names and Symbolism, are on a working visit to Vienna, Austria.
During the visit, they held a series of important meetings, including with the Head of the Department for the Unification of Educational Campuses in Vienna, the heads of the Educational Campus and Kindergarten in Vienna’s Second District, the Head of European and International Relations at Vienna City Hall, the Director of Vienna Music Schools, the Advisor to the City Senate, and the Head of Communication and Relations at the Vienna Museum.
The City Council members emphasized that learning from international experience to strengthen municipal programs in Georgia is an effective way to overcome existing challenges.
Additionally, the delegation met with Aleksandre Maisuradze, Georgia’s Ambassador to Austria. They discussed cultural and educational projects, shared achievements and challenges in these fields, and explored future opportunities for exchanging successful reform models. The conversation also touched on naming issues, particularly the renaming of a street in Tbilisi as part of Georgian-Austrian relations.
The delegation members underscored the significance of the visit for deepening cooperation between the two countries in culture and education and thanked the embassy, especially Ambassador Maisuradze, for organizing the visit at such a high level.
