During an official visit to Milan, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze met with his Milanese counterpart, Mayor Giuseppe Sala, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the two cities.
According to Tbilisi City Hall, the meeting focused on strengthening relations between Georgia and Italy, with particular attention to expanding collaboration between Tbilisi and Milan in various sectors.
One of the key topics was the upcoming opening of Georgia’s General Consulate in Milan. Both mayors agreed that this development would significantly contribute to deepening bilateral ties, fostering closer engagement between the cities and countries.
“Georgia and Italy share a long-standing history of cooperation, and our peoples enjoy close ties. I am committed to further advancing collaboration between Tbilisi and Milan in every possible direction,” said Mayor Kaladze.
Mayor Sala expressed appreciation for Kaladze’s visit and affirmed Milan’s willingness to build a stronger partnership. He also extended an invitation for Tbilisi to join C40 Cities, a global network of cities committed to combating climate change.
“I fully support expanding our cooperation and believe the new consulate will serve as a valuable platform for future initiatives,” Sala said.
