Maria Malmer Stenergard, Sweden’s Foreign Minister, has amplified a message from her Finnish counterpart, Elina Valtonen, on the social media platform X, underscoring support for Georgia’s democratic path.

“Important reminder from my colleague, Finland’s Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen,” Stenergard posted. “Georgia has freely committed, as an OSCE participating state, to ensure that its people can decide their own future through free and fair elections, open debate, and a free press. Sweden calls on Georgia’s authorities to live up to these commitments.”

Both ministers emphasized that the future of Georgia should be determined by the Georgian people, in accordance with international democratic principles.
