,,Support for Ukraine can be perceived in two ways – as the provision of more weapons and escalation or as a contribution to peace and the peace process,'' - stated the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Bochorishvili.
Bochorishvili emphasized that while the US President firmly advocates for ending the war swiftly in the interest of the Ukrainian people, European politicians' positions on a ceasefire remain less explicit. According to her, the responsibility for how the war ends lies primarily with the President of Ukraine and those supporting the continuation of hostilities.
She noted that shifting international positions on support may disappoint those expecting a decisive Ukrainian victory. Bochorishvili stressed that Georgia's consistent support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while opposing war escalation, aligns with the US approach, which increasingly equates supporting Ukraine with promoting peace.
