
According to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, the importance of promoting the Georgian quality and competitive products and establishing a worthy place in the international markets was emphasized at the meeting.
As the Ministry reported, last June, with the support of the Embassy of Georgia, about 50 Georgian products were placed in 14 trade outlets of the Lulu hypermarket network in Qatar. The issue of opening a regional trade representative office in Georgia by Lulu International was also discussed at the meeting.
As the Deputy Minister noted at the meeting, with the support of the Government of Georgia, work is underway to diversify the international markets. In particular, the interest expressed in the Georgian products of various denominations has increased in the state of Qatar for the last two years.
According to the CEO of Lulu, a chain of commercial hypermarkets, the efforts made by the Government of Georgia and the Embassy of Georgia in the State of Qatar are significant, which contributes to the placement of the Georgian products in trade networks across the Gulf countries. Mr. Mohammed Altaf expressed readiness to assist Georgian producers in promoting their products.
Together with Nino Tandilashvili, the meeting was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the State of Qatar, Nikoloz Revazishvili.
