According to the summarized data of 2021, there is a 61% rate of flight recovery and a 48% rate of recovery of passenger flow. This is stated in the 2022 report of the government of Georgia.
"The flights were restored by 77%, and the passenger flow - by 69% - in the first 3 months of the current year.
With the active efforts of the government and relevant agencies, from June 2021, low-cost airlines entered the Georgian aviation market: Eurowings; Wizz Air Abu Dhabi; Bees Airline; FlyArystan; Air Manas and Air Arabia Abu Dhabi. At the same time, this year, the following airlines have started operating in the direction of Georgia: Condor, FLYONE Armenia, Iranian Varesh Airlines and Saudi Arabian airline Flyadeal (the latter starts operating from June 28 at two airports simultaneously, in Tbilisi and Batumi in 5 directions). It should be noted that an average of 300 flights a week are performed at the Georgian international airports. During the summer navigation season, flights will be operated by 41 airlines in 75 destinations across 31 countries, with a frequency of about 415-420 per week, which will have a positive impact on the movement of passengers and the gradual recovery of tourism in the country," - the report reads.
