According to the data published by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GEOSTAT), in January 2024, 117.34 tons of the products were imported, while 157.59 tons - in the same period of the previous year. In addition, this year Georgia paid 82.16 thousand US dollars for 117.34 tons of the products -1 kg of product cost 0.70 US dollars on average.
Based on the Geostat data, in January 2024, compared to the same period last year, the price of imported strawberries in Georgia increased by 150%.
In 2024, Georgia's top trading partner by strawberry import is Turkey, from which Georgia bought 115.85 tons of the product for 79.1 thousand US dollars. The remaining 1.49 tons of strawberries worth $2.98 thousand were imported from Egypt.
