In connection with the 28th anniversary of the fall of Sokhumi and in honor of the memory of the victims of the war in Abkhazia, state flags have been lowered on the territory of the Ministry of Defense and military units.

The military confrontation in Abkhazia began on August 14, 1992. The war lasted 13 months and 13 days and ended with the fall of Sokhumi on September 27, 1993.
