"During the last two years, double-digit economic growth has been recorded in Georgia. The special importance of high economic growth is that we employ more people and create more prosperity in the families of citizens. Of course, the economic growth is also reflected in employment, and according to the Geostat [National Statistics Office of Georgia] data, in the third quarter of 2022, compared to the last quarter of last year, the number of employed people has increased by 114,000 people," – the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili said.
As the National Statistics Office of Georgia reported, employment in Georgia has increased in almost all sectors of the economy, including a significant increase in activities related to construction, trade and tourism. It should be noted that the level of unemployment is 15.6% and is at a historical minimum, and compared to the fourth quarter of the previous year, it has decreased by 3.4 percentage points.
