
Shalva Papuashvili, Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, met with Didier Trebucq, the UN Resident Coordinator in Georgia, and representatives from various UN agencies, including UNDP, UN Women, the OHCHR, and UNFPA Georgia, to discuss ongoing collaboration and future initiatives.
According to the Parliament’s press office, Papuashvili “positively assessed” Georgia’s long-standing relationship with the United Nations and its specialized institutions.
The meeting focused on the upcoming cooperation cycle, which will begin with the finalization of the 2026–2030 Development Cooperation Framework. Didier Trebucq highlighted that this new phase will support the implementation of Georgia’s national development priorities as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Trebucq also expressed interest in the Georgian Parliament’s legislative priorities and ongoing initiatives. In response, Papuashvili provided a comprehensive overview of the Parliament’s agenda, reinforcing the commitment to continued cooperation.
