“Why is the leadership of Georgia reacting so harshly to our meetings, you and I never planned any action against Tbilisi,” - the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, said at the meeting with the de facto leader of occupied Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania.
"One thought does not escape me: why the leadership of Georgia reacts so harshly to our meetings. Can't there be normal, warm, friendly relations between persons, between peoples? Maybe these relations will promote peace and friendship between the Abkhazian and Georgian peoples. You and I have never planned any action against Tbilisi," Lukashenko said.
According to him, he is following the situation that is developing in Georgia, including in relation with the former president Mikheil Saakashvili.
"Something doesn't seem right in the sense that he was the president after all. Therefore, to allow it to go as far as it is developing is simply not right. Why I say this: We have not given an assessment, we have not been involved in this or other situations. As far as possible, we had and still have very good relations with Tbilisi," Lukashenko noted.
To be informed, Aslan Bzhania arrived in Belarus from Russia today.
