A solemn service is taking place in the Sioni Cathedral in connection with the day of the enthronement of the Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Ilia II.
Ilia II is leading the service, accompanied by the Patriarchal locum tenens, Reverend Shio Mujiri, and other chief priests.
Ilia II was elected as the Catholicos-Patriarch of Georgia at the age of 44 during the 12th church meeting held in 1977, and his enthronement occurred on December 25 of the same year in Svetitskhoveli.
