"A solar power plant will be built in the eastern Georgian municipality of Kaspi to help enhance independence and security of the energy sector in the country," - the Public-Private Partnership Agency has said.
The Georgian private company Energy Group will implement the $6 million project, which was authorized by the Government this week.
The Agency said the plant's installed capacity would be 10 MW, with the facility expected to generate approximately 14.077 million kWh of electricity annually.
It also noted Georgian citizens would be primarily employed during both the construction and operation stages of the project.
